City of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner declares May 20, 2016 as LD Systems Day

Houston Recovers with Clay Walker & Friends
Live from Lakewood Church

Houston-area residents were devastated by the flood on April 18, 2016, many losing their homes and possessions for the second time in less than a year.  When it was over, eight people had lost their lives and thousands became homeless in the Houston area, due to an excessive, torrential and cruel natural disaster.

Following the flood, Houston’s great volunteers began to mobilize.  There were first responders, corporate neighbors and artists, all graciously contributing to various capacities.  In an effort to assist Houstonians who continue to struggle to restore their living environments, multi-platinum country star, Clay Walker, created Houston Recovers with Clay Walker & Friends Live from Lakewood Church.  Volunteering his time and lending his talents, Clay Walker, asked his musician friends and legends to join him on stage to host a night of joyous music and fundraising.  Many stars accepted his invitation and today we honor LD Systems who graciously offered their time and production support.  Under the direction of Rob McKinley, their lighting and technical support was extraordinary.  In appreciation of it’s efforts to assist in such an extensive manner, we honor LD Systems for providing their services at Houston Recovers with Clay Walker & Friends Live from Lakewood Church.  Not only have they honored us by allowing us to expand this fundraising event to be shared with all Houstonians, they have shown, by example, what it means to give of themselves for this very meaningful cause.  Their generosity has inspired other Houstonians to follow suit, moved by the generosity of their actions.

Therefore, I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the City of Houston, hereby Proclaim May 20, 2016 as

LD Systems Day

A big “THANK YOU” goes out to the LD Systems Houston Production Services Team for representing Houston and making a huge impact on the community recovery effort!
